Cervinia Season Finale

As the Eid holidays arrive at the end of the ski season this year let's take advantage of it at one of Europe's most snow-sure resorts.

We will be taking a trip to Cervinia in the Aosta Valley of Italy and skiing in both Italy and Switzerland! The ski area envelopes one of the most iconic mountains in the alps - the mighty Matterhorn - or as it is known in Italy, Monte Cervino. If you have never heard of this mountain I bet you have seen it..... on that last Toblerone you ate! It is the mountain in the picture and has a distinctive shark-tooth shape, especially when viewed from the Swiss side.

So why are we going here I hear you ask? The middle of April is very late for the Alpine ski season so one of the big uncertainties is "Will there be any snow?" Cervinia (https://tinyurl.com/y7t6xoux) is one of the highest and most snow-sure resorts in the Alps and can be skied even in the summer on the glacier. For the last few years there has been plenty of snow on both the Italian and Swiss side early in April.

Italy is also a paradise for intermediate skiers as the Italians are fanatical about their grooming (I'm talking about the snow but they do also tend to be pretty well presented). For those of you with more experience of skiing in France or Switzerland you will also be amazed by the very reasonable prices of good-quality food and beverages available on the mountain.

-----ACCOMODATION----- 

Half Board Accomodation is provided at The Sertorelli Sporthotel, a gem nestled at 2050 metres above sea level in Cervinia. The hotel offers a luxurious and convenient stay for both ski enthusiasts and visitors looking to soak in the beauty of the Alps. This recently-built hotel, which underwent extensive renovations and expansions in the summer of 2009, boasts a prime location. It's perfectly situated close to the heart of the village, mere steps from pedestrian precincts, and only 300 metres from ski-lift facilities and slopes, with a complimentary, non-stop ski bus shuttling guests between the hotel and the ski areas.

The hotel provides an array of amenities designed to enhance the comfort and enjoyment of its guests. These include a restaurant, bar, cozy living rooms, a traditional "stube," and rooms equipped with Sky TV and Internet access. For ski enthusiasts, the hotel offers ski service, as well as equipment and boot rental. Additionally, convenient parking and a garage are available for guests.

The ground floor hosts the inviting "Stube Cervino" bar, which features a fireplace and reading room, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The first floor houses a spacious multifunctional room that serves various purposes, including a TV room, billiards, card games, a 40-seat congress room, and Internet service. The hotel also caters to families and leisure seekers with its fitness center, game arcade, and babysitting services (available upon request).

A highlight of the Sertorelli Sporthotel is its wellness center located on the sixth floor, accessible free of charge to all guests, offering a perfect retreat after a day on the slopes.

Inbound: 13/04/2024 Emirates EK091 Departing Milan Malpensa (MXP) at 15:45 and arriving Dubai (DXB) at 20:30

If you prefer to have your own room then a single supplement of 2,100 AED is payable.

A 3rd person sharing a room on a single booking will receive a 900 AED discount

If a ski pass is not required then a discount of 1,185 AED will be applied

-----SKI LESSONS----- 

For children and teenagers aged 6-16 who can already ski parallel we are offering a coaching package led by an ISIA Level 3 Instructor for 5 days. The cost of the coaching package is 3,100 AED

For anyone else we can help arrange lessons with a local ski school for beginners or young children and for more advanced skiers we recommend the courses offered by Warren Smith Ski Academy Course (http://www.warrensmith-skiacademy.com/).
